Cooking the Books

Cooking the Books blends contributions from the Colchester Council diners with artistic vision. Images of food, pages fluttering, corridors of dusty books, lines of gleaming cooking utensils, mullioned windows with stained glass, wood panelling, knives and forks in fast action, the dining room filling and empying, stainless steel , Victorian texts and present day mobiles blend into a soundtrack of reminiscence and recipes.

Cooking the Books was made by Bob Jaroc and Gail Pearce and presented in the dining room of Colchester Council, which was formerly used as a library and a courtroom. It was funded by 'Year of the Artist'.
